YMCA Belize’s annual Summer Program has been putting smiles on children’s faces for the past 20 years with the help of dedicated volunteers and is pleased to continue this tradition in 2014. The Y Summer Program is our biggest annual event and therefore needs the most coordination and assistance from our volunteers.

Being a volunteer at the Y is a challenging but rewarding experience and many of our youth volunteers return year after year. It is a pleasure to watch their confidence and leadership skills grow with each summer.

The volunteer experience teaches young people to develop the core YMCA values of caring, responsibility, respect, honesty and faith as well as skills for future employment such as communication, planning and leadership. It is also a fun and social environment where camaraderie is fostered between volunteers and new friendships formed.

This summer we are looking for reliable, enthusiastic volunteers to assist in areas such as reading, math, basketball, football, swimming, music and to be general classroom assistants. If you fit the bill or know someone who does, please get in touch with us on 222-5526 for further information.
